January 27th, 2011 - Classes are Cancelled Due to Snow!

"Look at all those cookies!!" Two NY Harbor Police commented as they salivated. "Take some, take as many as you want", was the reply of one of the Cookie Cafe volunteers.  "Where do I pay?" was the question. "These cookies are always free."  So they dove in and had a wonderful time.

 
Cookie Cafe started very this last week as Gene started shoveling at 4am to get our car out of the driveway.  We finally made it to Land Hall only to discover that it wasn't shoveled. Last year Gene got caught shoveling with a dust pan he found, so this year he came prepared with a shovel. Then we had the problem of who was going to help us put the cookies in the big serving pans. That was solved when the MOD announced school wide that if anyone owed ED time ("discipline") they could work at Cookie Cafe. We got a large crowd and we had fun. Meanwhile Gene went over and discovered the Chapel was not shoveled out either, and a midshipman helped him so the Band of Sisters could get to their meeting.
 
Since school was closed, the midshipmen had extra time to come to Cookie Cafe, just relax and stay a while. It was a good time.
